Amarok Kennel
Our kennel is located in northeastern Minnesota. We maintain 50 healthly, spoiled Alaskan Huskies. A good share of our bloodlines come from Ramy Brooks and Doug Swingley and Melanie Shirilla. The dogs are a life style that we enjoy and respect. When you are out on the long runs with your best friends it's truly amazing. It's something that we can't explain to you, you must experience! We raise a small number of dogs mainly for our use. We sell (place may be a better word) to good homes where they may be successful. Also in the winter of 2004-2005 we started a joint program with YMCA Camp Menogyn to train staff members in dog mushing and dog care and provide 20 dogs for their winter program which has been very successful.Robin Beall

Greg introduced me to the sport 8 years ago and we can say the rest in history! At that point I needed a lead dog and Susan Whiton shared a big eared female" Delta", with me and that is all it took. Delta passed away this summer at the age of 16; we miss her and appreciate everything she taught me. Then I just wanted to go faster; Susan warned me that speed was addictive! So off we went in search of dogs. Our friends Todd and Anne Capistrant introduced us to Ramy and Cathy Brooks and then the addiction became worse! My handsome man came Vince came along with his sister Mick. Our kennel then went to another level.
Greg Beall
I went to the dogs over 20 years ago. I have raced in the Beargrease Marathon and Race to the Sky in Montana. For me the lifestyle and enjoying these incredible, intelligent four-legged athletes is a tremendously rewarding. My main role now is to provide general support to the kennel. That may mean fixing things, running errands and doing what must be done so the others can maximize their time training the dogs. My other job is training the youngsters. At times it's like herding cats, but once they start to grasp what to do its an awesome feeling. Hope to see you on the trail!
Wade Hoffer
Wade is in 11th grade at Cook County High School. He is active in football and baseball. Wade is a big help with the dogs. Wade enjoys puppy season the most.

Meghan Luke
Meghan Luke is a graduate from University of California, Berkeley in Geography. She is a veteran of many adventures including guiding at Camp Menogyn. This last summer she climbed a number of peaks in Colorado for a GPS surveying program. The picture is one of her, with her dog Tina, at the summit of one of those peaks.
We are very pleased that Meghan came back to handle for us again this year. She is extremely attentive to detail and very good with the dogs; they all love her. Now that she actually has snow to run a sled on, she is getting very comfortable on the runners. Meghan will be racing some of the younger dogs this year and getting them ready for the big team!
